BuzzTrek Anonymous Peer Support App

BuzzTrek is an anonymous peer-to-peer support platform designed to help college students share concerns and receive guidance without fear of judgment. The product addressed gaps in emotional support, navigation of college life, and mental health resources through community-driven interaction.

My Role & Scope

UX Designer responsible for end-to-end experience design, from user research and journey mapping through wireframes, prototyping, and usability testing. I partnered closely with developers in a fast-paced startup environment and supported the product through beta launch.

Constraints

The platform needed to support sensitive conversations while maintaining anonymity, trust, and usability for a student audience. Design decisions were made within limited startup resources and evolving product requirements.

Key Decisions

I prioritized anonymous posting and peer-based community groups to lower barriers to participation and encourage honest engagement. Navigation and flows were simplified to help students quickly find support without cognitive or emotional friction.

Impact

The platform launched a public beta and validated core assumptions around anonymous peer support for college students. User research and testing informed iterative improvements to engagement, retention, and overall usability prior to the product’s dissolution.
