Accounts Overview Accessibility Modernization

Accounts Overview is a foundational entry point across multiple enterprise platforms, yet legacy design patterns and inconsistent implementations created significant accessibility gaps. These issues increased legal and compliance risk, limited usability for assistive technology users, and introduced fragmentation across lines of business. The challenge was to modernize the experience without disrupting scale, while aligning multiple platforms to a consistent, accessible standard.

My Role & Scope

Design Lead for the Accounts Overview workstream within the Digital Accessibility Program, leading UX and accessibility strategy across six enterprise implementations. Owned design direction and delivery while influencing platform-level standards adopted beyond this workstream.

Constraints

The work spanned multiple platforms with non-identical architectures, strict WCAG and regulatory requirements, and design system limitations—all delivered in parallel. Solving this required system-level thinking rather than one-off fixes.

Key Decisions

I standardized accessible patterns before customization to enable scale, designed interaction models with assistive technology first, and partnered with engineering and accessibility to balance compliance with real usability. These decisions shifted accessibility upstream instead of retrofitting it at the end.

Impact

Delivered WCAG-aligned accessibility improvements across six Accounts Overview experiences, reducing compliance risk and improving platform consistency. The resulting patterns informed future enterprise work and increased alignment across product, design, and engineering teams.
